2016 is a huge year for the Oakland Peace Center! We need your support more than ever!
In 2016, increasing capacity in many ways! Here are our main focus points for this year:
1. Rehabilitating the building. 111 Fairmount is historical but it doesn't have heating nor very good plumbing. We'd also love to install ADA bathrooms and a commercial kitchen for training programs.
2. Working to create shared staffing-- hiring a person/people to work collectively for our partners in an administrative, developmental, and technology capacity. This will allow our partners to spend more time on ending violence and less time bogged down with the details of running a non-profit.
3. We're ready for full time staff. We need extra funds to be able to have a full-time executive director and facilities coordinator.
We believe it takes a village to create peace. Every dollar counts. Every donor counts. Help us get to $50,000!
The Oakland Peace Center is a non profit collective that works to provides needed space, hosts collaborative events and trainings, and creates a network of emotional and spiritual support for the 40+ organizations who partner with us.
